Welcome! I proudly present The Treasure Map This is again one of my all-in-one drawings (where everytime you look at it you see something you didn't noticed yet!), and this time (nearly) everything worked well while sketching... And of course there are those little storys to the single pictures... And the main story: The old pirates' logbook can give you hints to an immence treasure... I will give you further information lateron, if you like! (for all those people that don't desire to read more: You should, it worths it But I'm also happy about every quick look:!: )
I am really looking forward to your comments. Tell me what situations you experienced in the drawing - and which your favourite is! I GOTTA know!!
===========================
Now I will give you some hints to the pics that I fav myself or to pics that I feel the need to explain for better understanding But they are only hints! You have to recover the pics all by yourself The pirates' log is quite a long part, but it is a lovely little story! This ol' pirate is quite a story-teller But thats why the "treasure map quick access" was created If you still want to read the story, step on to the General Hints.
The Treasure Map Quick Access -->
1. Drop you anchor at the fireplace [upper left corner ] -->
2. Use the path that is guarded by a strange skull -->
3. Take a rest at the old smugglers hideout -->
4. Follow the path deeper in the jungle, until you end at a plank bridge ,cross the river -->
5. The next waypoint is the grave of the unknown sailor , where you have to find the next way in the deep deep forest... go west! -->
6. The volcano created a system of caves around the lavacrater... You have to get in one of them and find your way out; five golden coins should help you. -->
7. After you see daylight again, proceed on the path to a rock that looks suspiciously like a skull. On the way there you'll meet the marooned sailor... -->
8. Finally, under a stone that looks like a big ape, the treasure can be found. 10.000 pieces o' eight to spend in Port Royale! Yarr!
General Hints
1. The first little story I want to tell you about is the story of the pilgrims that have left there home planet to find a new planet where they can build up a new future and hope... There are 3 images: The begin of the journey, the hypergalactical highway and the arrival at the planet Aquarius.
2. Some of you might notice Dr. Brain, and some of you might even remember him from one of my old drawings, Life Can Be So Simple. Wanted to do him again
3. When you found the treasure, you will see a cute little mouse sniffing at some kind of flower... The jungle is a dangerous place for little mices...
4. You know the motion picture Back To The Future ? See if you find something familiar...
5. That Chinese guy is saying something on chinese... I dunno what the meaning is, but it could be just the name of the chinese restaurant from which I took the letters That would be "Kam Loon" then... If you know, please tell me!
6. That neon orange skull is just CRAZY!
7. There is a little inventors workshop in this picture... the particular time was 1892, to give you a hint.
8. Do you know the novell 1984 (which is my birth year ) where its said Big Brother is watching you ?
9. I really love the way that black jet with the blue exhaust came out... Looks so HIGH!
10. I guess you asked yourself "Who is that Bernd" huh? So, Bernd is the little dwarf who sits in his warm house (the tree trunk) eating hot chestnuts and smoking a little potpipe
11. There is a reward of thousand gummipoints for finding the burglar...
12. To the Star Wars Fans out there: Try to find the Star Destroyer! (is it named that way? In german it was "Sternenzerstörer" )
So, I guess 12 hints are enough for now, you will have to find the rest all by yourself... Don't want to take you the fun doing it :!: Enjoy! (maybe I'll come up with some more later)
Instructions: The old pirate gives hints to little images related to his story that can be found in this drawing. These hints are marked like this. Proceed from the images by following the red marks!
Ye Olde Pirates' Logbook
March 16th 1658, on Sea
Our storage is now finally filled - and the ship is lying deep in the water. When I think of all the gold and jewelry in the storage, I go mad with the thought of someone robbing MY treasure! So I decided to burry it on some marooned island, and then sail out to further plunderin' so we have even MORE gold... Yarr! We can get it back later and then spend all the pieces o'eight in the bars and whorehouses of Port Royale! The navigator was instructed to follow the Latitude and Longitude I gave him, and I await our arrival in two weeks... Oh Neptune, lets hope nothing happens to the gold in this time!
March 3rd 1658, Smugglers Island
Yeah, I remember this island good - as a little boy I had been here, with my father and his crew of scurvy smugglers, aye! A perfect spot to hide the treasure away! That means, what is LEFT from the treasure. On our way here, we located a pirate-nest on the coast of Cuba, and the crew would have mutinied if I had not allowed to land there and to give the crew their part of the gold. Because it was already dark as we arrived here, I decided to give the crew a little bit of our rum reserves, and they spend their free time on the beach, lighting up a huge fire. Not that they needed that to have light, though. The Crystal Moon lightened up the whole beach.
March 4th 1658, Smugglers Island
I have organized a group of three men which will go with me in the jungle to find a place to hide the treasure; a place we are able to find again, that is. We found the old way the smugglers used back in the old time, and by the way the jungle had grew over it, this path wasn't used for a long time. A good sign! As we proceeded into the jungle, one of my men was suddenly terrified about something. That landlubber! That was just a skull "guarding" the entrance to scare unwanted visitors away...an old smugglers trick. But how could he know... He just earned his sealegs.
After a hard march for about one and a half hour uphill we arrived at the old smugglers hideout and decided to take a rest there for a bit. While we were sitting there relaxing in the sun, I must have fallen asleep somehow. Strange dream that was... Something about strange iceblue flying ...things in a strange world... I woke up with a scream. But it was just a dream, so we proceeded. We had to bury that treasure fast!
Finally we arrived at the old plank bridge I had supposed to be completely rotten or even crashed away, but as we crossed the river, nothing but a little squeeking was pointing that this bridge was old. Hmm, maybe this island isn't as deserted as I thought... I remember some planks missing, but this bridge was missing none!
Five minutes later, we found what I was looking for all the time: The grave of the unknown sailor. I don't know how old this grave is, but it has always been a waypoint for the smugglers in the deep jungle. So it was for us then. We headed westwards, towards the volcano.
Although the volcano is still active, former eruptions created a system of canyons and caves we had to find our way through. Thank god I can remember places very easily (I've been here with the smugglers once), so I knew which way to go and not to get lost. While walking through the caves, I had found five goldcoins lying on the dusty floor... I've added them to the other 9995 goldcoins we had in the crate. What a funny coincidence...
Then we saw daylight again - and a guy armed with a rusty knife who looked like he hadn't expected just that! The way he looked he had to be marooned... After he came over his shock, he laughed up crazy and said "Thank you, thank you, thank you..." Of course I've asked him what the HELL he was doing here, and he told us he was left behind by his old crew to die on this island. This was nearly four years ago (I could tell by the date he told me that he last remembers)... But I guess it was his glance that brought his old crew to their decision - the whole time he was talking to me, I noticed him staring at the crate we were taking with us. Suddenly he jumped and hit his knife into the chest of one of the men that were carrying the crate, and attempted to kill the others too. I had no other choice, so I shot him in the back. Don't ever dare to try stealing my property!!!
We left his body getting cold all alone, and proceeded deeper in the jungle. Somewhere in there was a rock that looked suspiciously like a skull, so I copyied that as a waypoint to find the way back to the treasure. From there it was only a cats' jump to the glade I aimed. On this glade we finally burried the crate, under a stone that looked like a big ape, and left the place. One sad glance back, and we went all the way back to the ship.
March 12th 1658, on Sea
I miss him - I miss the blinking gold and the jewels. But he is save now, and we will come back for him. Just a little more plunderin and I will build me a house in some nice harbour and spend the rest of my life in peace and harmony...
The watchout just recognized a Spanish war galleon... There is the fight we all hate and love! I hope the plunder worths the energy, yarr!
<<< this is the last entry of the logbook. the site is spotted with blood...>>>
So I hope you all enjoyed these little stories and the picture, of course! See ya all around me hearties!
